Ride home - April 14

Took River Road home again. It's quicker (although harder work with the hills) with the little bastards on school holidays.

Quiet drive home, although we did have a highlight of a woman who, despite all the traffic pouring down River Road, decided the parking restrictions didn't apply to her and parked her car just between Tennyson Park and where River Road hooks left into Bridge Street.

A, *ahem*, large lady, she did stand out somewhat, as she looked bewildered at the abuse she had generated. I went past and suggested, firmly but fairly, that there was probably a good reason there were parking restrictions there.

I mean, honestly, a simpy IQ test should really be part of the driving exam.

Thursday April 14

Didn't run this morning, so cycled in and took the non-preferred, hilly River Road route.

School holidays saw this road pretty quiet this morning, and yet again, no major incidents to report. Just the usual minor irritants of people who don't have the courage to pass, or move completely into the other lane to do so, plus the classic of people double-parked waiting for car park spots right next to the gym, but no specific life-threatening events.

It's almost disappointing!

Still, there's always the afternoon.

I'm almost disappointed to report...

...that the subsequent few days, Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Thursday were pretty, quiet, although I did get one guy a beauty, clipping his wing mirror with the handlebar of my bike on Thursday evening. Heh, he beeped his horn, but was totally log-jammed in the traffic waiting to turn left from the Pacific Highway on to Epping Road, so I'm sure by the time he got to Epping Road, I was probably past Penrose Street. Serves him right for being so close to the kerb.
